issuu podcast 63

Who in their childhood did not want to be a movie or TV star when they grew-up? In this episode Eugenia and Gerri discuss some of the younger actors that we see on our big and small screens! They discuss the roles that they take on and how they help tell a story and make it more real! Some of the kids that are on our screens are not even able to watch the shows/movies that they are in because of the rating that is then put onto the show. Some of them have scared us silly and some of them have made us laugh and long to do what they are doing. So what else do they have for you? Lots! They have not one, not two but three interviews for you in this episode, Chandler Riggs who plays Carl in popular The Waking Dead and Jodelle Ferland who has been seen in many genre shows. The last interview is with Chandler’s father William Riggs who is not only his father but also his teacher. They hope that you enjoy this insight into the younger actors in our favourite shows. They would like to thank Daniel and Lionel http://www.lionelmidfordpublicity.com from Supanova Pop Culture Expo and you can find them at http://www.supanova.com.au. Keep an eye on their site as Supanova are expanding their events in to more cities, so they may be coming to one near you soon!

Episode 62 – The Tale of Two Stargate Aliens – Chris Judge and Corin Nemec

Click to play – Right click to download

issuu podcast 62Eugenia and Gerri discuss the many years of entertainment that Stargate has given them over the years, talking about  Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis and of course the youngster of the crew, Stargate Universe. This favoured show still resonates today with Sci Fi fans with its strong story lines and believable plots (well to us that wish that we could go through the gate!) and its Doctor Who ability to have major cast changes and still be relevant. The characters grew over the years (some even growing their hair) and with the use of Egyptian mythology set the show in a place that gave us familiarity whilst taking us to new worlds. In this episode Eugenia and Gerri talk to not one but two of the shows actors that made an impact Christopher Judge and Corin Nemec, the one that grew his hair and the one that was swapped for Daniel! Thanks to Carissa and Rand from The Hub Productions http://www.thehubproductions.com and Gift for the Geeks at Supanova Expo http://www.giftsforthegeek.com.au

Episode 60 – Ben Browder – From Farscape to Stargate and Doctor Who

Click to play – Right click to download

issuu podcast 60In this episode Eugenia and Gerri cover about 70 years of Science Fiction from Doctor Who to Farscape to Stargate with the only actor (well as far as our research shows) that has participated in three of the longest running Sci Fi shows over three continents! Ben Browder joins us to talk about working on these three shows all of which are favourites!  Farscape an Australian Sci Fi show that deserves to be watched by so many more Sci Fi fans was innovative with the use of Jim Henson’s puppetry, its strong characters, and how the puppets seemed like real characters with the acting of Jonathan Hardy as Rygel and Lani Tupu as Pilot bringing them believably to life. Ben talks about how he wanted to work with Jim Henson’s company and how he loved working on Farscape and then his move to Stargate and then onto Doctor Who! Wow Ben Browder could be every Sci Fi fans ultimate actor! Thanks go to Oz Comic Con’s Carissa, Rand, and Maggie catch them at http://www.ozcomiccon.com.

Click to play – Right click to download

issuu podcast 56“Eureka” Eugenia and Gerri found it! Well the topic for this podcast that is! Eugenia and Gerri had the pleasure of catching up with the robotic Deputy Andy himself, Kavan Smith, at a Hub Productions event in Adelaide http://www.thehubproductions.com. You also know Kavan from his roles in Stargate as Major Lorne and 4400 as Jed Garrity. They talk about the aspects they like about the show and what hopes they have for its final episodes. They also discuss some of their dislikes, which aren’t many, well except for a really bad Australian accent. Kavan gives insight into the world of Eureka and how he developed his robot character, and one character he really enjoys playing.  He also talks about how web based series like The Guild and Sanctuary have changed the way shows are marketed. If you like Eureka or not watched it, no, that can’t be right! Every geek wants to live in a town like this so you must have watched it!  This is one podcast that should not be missed.

Yes, he did want to take over the Universe just like all the rest, he was ruthless and selfish and just plain bad! However, he did it with just a sparkle in his eye that you could not help thinking that if you were going to be picked on by a Goa’uld then you would be standing in front of them all call out to Ba’al “pick me, pick me”. So, sit back have a listen and then enjoy the conversation they got to have with the best baddie from Stargate, none other than Ba’al, the gorgeous Cliff Simon when they caught up with him at The Hub Productions Convention in Adelaide http://www.thehubproductions.com.
